On Saturday, May 29, 2026, we organized a special Eid al-Adha celebration at Opinmäki in collaboration with our Pakistani brothers and sisters (Pin-Fin). The event drew a large crowd, filling the venue with a true, heartwarming festive spirit.
The program commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by brief presentations and opening remarks. In a beautiful display of unity, dozens of children took to the stage to recite Takbeers together. Following this, Finpolar’s “Gönül Köprüsü” nasheed group performed three uplifting nasheeds, creating an enthusiastic atmosphere that engaged the entire audience.
A captivating Whirling Dervish (Sema) performance, presented by the youth, followed and received immense appreciation and praise from the guests. Adding to the warmth of the event, our sisters contributed with a food bazaar (kermes). As always, the exceptionally delicious homemade desserts, Turkish pastries (börek), and traditional Turkish braised meat (kavurma) quickly found eager buyers.
Special activities were also organized for the younger guests, where Turkish and Pakistani children played together and shared joyful moments. The program concluded with an insightful panel discussion on the theme, “Challenges Faced by Muslims in Finland.”
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our brothers and sisters who participated in and contributed to this memorable event.
